Appointments:

Consultations are normally by appointment, but the first available doctor sees urgent cases.  If your appointment is for other than a standard consultation (for instance, several problems, a long involved problem, a special medical report, pre-employment examination or a procedure), please tell the receptionist when booking your appointment to arrange a longer consult.

Non Attendance/Cancellations:

2 Hours minimum notice is required for cancellation of appointment on the day. Failure to keep your appointment or notify Reception of cancellation will incur a charge.

After Hours:

If you are sick at night or on weekends, please phone the Waikerie Hospital on 8541 0555.  The hospital staff will advise you of the arrangements for your particular situation.

Accident & Emergency:

In extreme emergencies, such as severe breathing difficulties, or severe chest pain phone 000 & ask for the ambulance. If time permits contact the surgery for additional assistance. For other emergencies, phone the surgery for advice. The surgery is equipped to deal with minor casualties. If possible the patient should be brought to the surgery.

Home Visits:

If you are too sick to come to the surgery, Home Visits can be made by prior arrangements with your doctor.

Availability of Doctors by Telephone:

Doctors in this practice do not like to be contacted by phone during normal surgery hours as it disrupts patient contact during consultations. If your call is not urgent our receptionists will take a message & your call will be returned as soon as possible.

Repeat Prescriptions:

These are available at the discretion of the doctor. Regular review of medications is important, therefore an appointment is required. Appointments can be made at reception. Should you request an urgent script from the doctor a fee for this service will apply.
