Dr Emma Ryan has a broad range of interests in all aspects of dermatology across all ages including:
• Skin Cancer
• Inflammatory skin disease
• Complex autoimmune disease
She also has a special interest in paediatric dermatology and visits the Women’s & Children’s Hospital along with Alice Springs with a focus on children and adolescent skin, hair and nail disease. Dr Emma Ryan also manages acne and scarring, excessive sweating, hair loss and other cosmetic interventions in all ages.

Dr John van Essen

Meet John,
He  has a passion for treating patients impacted by hip and knee conditions including arthritis and sport injuries.
His interest lies in treating people first, working together with them using minimally invasive techniques together with the most appropriate modern technology such as patient specific instrumentation, computer assisted and robotic surgery.
He was born, educated and trained in Adelaide.
He has also trained internationally in several centres, including the prestigious
Exeter (UK) Arthoplasty Fellowship.
He has performed thousands of hip and knee procedures using the latest techniques, including the ‘Direct Superior’ minimally invasive approach for hip replacement.
Dr John is actively involved in the training of the next generation of Orthopaedic Surgeons and is a current Examiner for the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons in the field of Orthopaedic Surgery .  A position only awarded to those of the highest professional and ethical standards.

Dr Dildeepa Naveen


Dr Dildeepa Naveen is a general paediatrician with over 10 years of paediatric experience, who works with children from birth through until 18 years of age. Her interests range from managing general paediatric complaints such as asthma, constipation, enuresis, eczema, sleep problems, feeding and growth issues to developmental and behavioural concerns including Autism Spectrum Disorder and ADHD. She is committed to supporting families of children with chronic progressive conditions who have complex care needs ensuring their care is well coordinated, they are able to access the services they need,  and that they receive the best possible care.

Dildeepa completed her paediatric training at the Women’s and Children’s Hospital, Flinders Medical Centre, Lyell McEwin Hospital at the Port Augusta Hospital Services. Dildeepa is now a lecturer at the University of Adelaide.

Dildeepa will be consulting at Waikerie Medical Centre once per month.

Dr Preeti Shukla

 

Dr Preeti Shukla is a General Paediatrician with over 10 years of paediatric experience, who will be consulting in Waikerie once a month.  Preeti was a qualified Paediatrician in India before immigrating to Australia in 2009 with her husband and 2 children.  She underwent training at various centres across Australia mainly NSW, ACT and Tasmania and was admitted to fellowship with the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (Paediatrics) in 2017.  Preet was a full time staff specialist in Nowra, NSW before moving to Adelaide with her family.  She works with Adelaide Paediatrics and consults at Wayville and Mile End in Adelaide.

Preeti is a caring and empathetic clinician, who values and respects different cultural practices.  Her special interests include child development and behavioural issues including ADHD, Austism, feeding and growth issues, eczema, constipation, enuresis and sleep disorders.  Preeti is committed to providing holistic care for her patients to enable them to reach their full potential.

Dr Raphael Torome

RACGP and ACCRM

Dr Raphael Torome obtained his basic medical qualifications in Nairobi Kenya. He worked in various capacities in Kenya and then several years in South Africa in large rural hospitals where he mainly did trauma, general and orthopaedic surgery. He migrated to Australia in 2001 and settled in Rural Barmera where he is currently a senior GP partner at the Barmera Medical Clinic. He holds a certificate in skin cancer medicine and has an interest in early detection and management of skin cancers. He has attended many advanced workshops and conferences on skin malignancies.

He holds fellowships of RACGP and ACCRM.

He enjoys teaching and is currently a GP registrar supervisor.

Outside work he spends time with his wife and two children. He enjoys travelling, walking, skiing on the river, cycling and occasional time in the golf range.

Robert Day

Rob has been performing ultrasound for 25 years and has been living and working in the Riverland since 2006. Previously he worked in private practice in Sydney, Adelaide and Darwin and in the public sector in London, Brisbane and Toowoomba. In association with radiologist Dr Richard Langford who is based in Queensland’s Sunshine Coast, Rob utilises internet enabled tele radiology to provide a specialist ultrasound service to several regional areas including Waikerie.

Rob is an accredited member of the Australasian Sonographers Association (ASA) and is registered with the Australian Health Practitioner’s Regulation Agency (AHPRA) and the Australian Sonographer Accreditation Registry (ASAR).

Rob is committed to providing a high standard of service to patients in regional and remote locations.
